Norot - Returning the Serpents to Ireland

Over a decade ago I suppose is when began to design sigils and with more of a traditional design, I had researched and became somewhat adept at making sigils that were very precise and purposeful but as I have grown older I have begun to take a more intuitive or even shamanistic way of creating powerful iconography that I felt spoke to me and invoked a resonating emotion or current. This is a art in itself I believe, the art of the will. A special sort of art that adapts archetypal symbolism that is both evocative and ascetic. In an essential sense these pieces are a simple exercise in interpreting sacred geometry that vibrates within my consciousness. That visualization is eventually captured after meditating upon it and later defining it in an artistic/shamanistic means. it is my belief that in the particular time in our society and culture it is the responsibility of the true artist to act as shaman, a druid of conscious and subconscious expression and priest of the mysteries of relating archetypes in visual art, music, writing, theater or whatever creative channel available. That shamanistic role that was once so revered and honored was consonant and almost interchangeable with the "true" artist, interpretation of dreams and visions into something others could relate too and understand, manifesting inner vision into symbolism that becomes Iconography that holds access to knowledge within that symbolic design and finally the artistic vision quest that is so often a self imposed initiation. This shamanic role and archetype has been one of the most important figures in human development and self awareness, over thousands of years of human cultural and spiritual progress the shaman has been a present and constant force till this current age. This is one of the poisoned roots to our problems, we have lost who we were and our connection to what is really moving inside our souls, we have lost our true relationship with the natural and supernatural world and we have lost something so very great. The descendant of Prometheus is the shaman the descendant of the shaman, the artist.  

So who or what is an artist in the purest sense and what role could be fulfilled? 
A "true" king cannot rule without the shaman, we have no "true" king and we have no "true" shaman.
